The 2019 Hylian general election was held on February 5, 2019. It resulted in the Royal Family Support Party receiving a landslide majority of 46 seats. The RFSP however, lost 13 seats, taking only 73 out of 86 seats won in the previous election.

Background[]

This was the first time Hyrule held it's election under new constituency boundaries after redistribution process was completed in 2016. The number of seats was reduced from 119 to 100 seats.

Also, after Hylian subdivisions were redistributed in 2017, the election took place in all 8 new regions rather than 6 provinces and 5 territories used before.

Those new regions and constituencies distribution are:

  • Akkala- 6 constituencies and 6 electorate seats
  • Central Hyrule- 8 constituencies and 12 electorate seats
  • Eldin- 7 constituencies and 10 eletorate seats
  • Faron- 4 constituencies and 4 electorate seats
  • Gerudo- 4 constituencies and 4 electorate seats
  • Hebra- 7 constituencies and 6 electorate seats
  • Lanayru- 4 constituencies and 4 electorate seats
  • Necluda- 6 constituencies and 8 electorate seats

This also were the first election under new electoral system. While first-past-the-post method maintained, this election also introduced electoral college system, which is any party receiving more votes against another party will win all the electorate seats.
